Edinburgh Festival Fringe recommendations 2023: Susie McCabe

Updated: Apr 5

You will be spoiled for choice if you're looking for a local Scottish comedian at Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Here are just some that I've seen recently and I recommend:

Susie McCabe: Femme Fatality

Susie McCabe comedian

I've seen Susie 4 times in the past year or so and I cannot recommend her enough. She's a fantastic storyteller and genuinely makes me crease over with laughter.

Her 2022 Fringe show 'Born Believer' was magnificent, and with Femme Fatality this year she continues to raise the bar.

Susie was one of my top 3 comedy picks from all of 2022 (I saw 33 different comedians last year!) - she's outstanding.

Following a hugely successful tour of Scotland, ’Scottish national treasure’ (Metro) Susie McCabe brings her show Femme Fatality to Edinburgh for this year’s Fringe.

With her remarkable and relatable story telling, Susie explores womanhood and how she feels like a disappointment. She grew up surrounded by girls that didn’t look or behave at all like her and she has made countless, often hilarious attempts to fit in.

Susie’s rise through the ranks of stand-up has been nothing short of meteoric. Her storytelling, acute observations and killer punchlines have made her one of the most sought-after performers in the UK. She has supported the likes of Kevin Bridges, Frankie Boyle, John Bishop and Jason Manford on their national tours.

Susie is a regular on BBC’s topical telly and radio, appearing on Have I Got News For You, Breaking The News, News Quiz and Times Radio as well as making several appearances on Frankie Boyle’s New World Order. She can also hold her own on the sports coverage, appearing regularly on Off The Ball and Six Nations Breakfast Show.

She is also a firm festival favourite. With five sell-out shows at The Kings - Glasgow International Comedy Festival, she continues to be the fastest-selling artist at the festival. With her razor-sharp punchlines she is currently “the best storytelling comic in the UK right now” (The List).
