REVIEW: Susie McCabe Born Believer (Edinburgh Fringe preview)

Updated: Apr 5

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Two great Glasgow comics, Christopher MacArthur Boyd and Susie McCabe on the same night at the Glasgow Stand, running through their material for the Edinburgh festival fringe.

Absolute bargain at £10 / ticket.

It’s a Wednesday night and the venue is sold out. Standing room only.

Chris is a very funny man. I hope he does well at Edinburgh. But there’s no doubt Susie is the headline act. Her set is slick, well structured and absolutely hilarious. She burst onto the small stage full of energy and never let her enthusiasm drop for a second.

I’ve seen Susie already this year - supporting Jason Manford on his tour back in February - and she was brilliant as the ‘support act’ then. But this full set for the Edinburgh Fringe is even better. I could listen to her tell stories all day long. She just has funny bones. And the more uncomfortable she seems in a situation she is describing, the funnier her anecdotes get.

Susie absolutely deserves to be the headline act on any bill.

Outstanding.
