⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A kilt swishing good time.

She, a Broadway star and Edinburgh Fringe survivor. He, a Scottish musical theatre lover with a tilt to his kilt. Now they bring the World Premiere of their love story home to the city where it all began.

Together with their crackin’ band, they celebrate their quirky romance in a touchingly funny song cycle - from Brigadoon to Broadway and from Scotland to Sondheim via Costello, Bacharach, The Proclaimers and more.

The Scot and the Showgirl is presented in concert form and based on the love story of real-life couple Frances Ruffelle and Norman Bowman. It’s a joyful story that began 28 years ago at Edinburgh Waverley train station. Full of jokes and laughs, it's a true(ish) wee jukebox musical full of Scottish music with Broadway hits mixed in.

Frances is the powerhouse you would expect from a Tony award winner and her encore song alone is worth seeing the show for.

Norman adds comedy throughout the show along with his soothing vocals.

Accompanied by a fabulous band providing live music, this show is guaranteed to leave you with a smile on your face.

A kilt swishing good time and a strong contender for the highlight of my fringe.
